What You Can Do with a Night Rating
With a Night Rating, you may:
- Exercise the privileges of your licence both by day and by night
- Gain valuable instrument and navigation experience
- Build confidence flying in low-light and nighttime conditions
Training Requirements
To obtain your Night Rating, Transport Canada requires:
- A valid Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
- 5 hours of instrument training
- 5 hours of dual flight instruction
- 5 hours of solo night flying
