What You Can Do with a Night Rating

With a Night Rating, you may:

Training Requirements

To obtain your Night Rating, Transport Canada requires:

  • A valid Private Pilot Licence (PPL)
  • 5 hours of instrument training
  • 5 hours of dual flight instruction
  • 5 hours of solo night flying
