Instrument Rating – Don’t let weather limit your flying.

An Instrument Rating gives you the training and confidence to operate in reduced visibility and challenging conditions, making you a more skilled and versatile pilot.

We offer three types:

  • Group 1 (for multi-engine airplanes with offset thrust; like our Twin Comanche).
  • Group 2 (for multi-engine airplanes with centreline thrust; like a Cessna 337).
  • Group 3 (for single-engine airplanes).

With a Group 1 IR; a person may:

  • Fly any multi-engine or single-engine airplane under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

With a Group 2 IR; a person may:

  • Fly a  multi-engine airplane with centreline thrust, or a single-engine airplane under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

With a Group 3 IR; a person may:

  • Fly a single-engine airplane under Instrument Flight Rules (IFR).

PREREQUISITES:

  • Education: Millennium requires a high school diploma or an equivalent secondary school completion.
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years.
  • Medical: Category 1 Aviation Medical required.

Course Length:

  • Anticipate 2- 3 weeks full-time, 2- 3 months part-time.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Complete written exam.
  • 50 hours cross-country flight time as Pilot in Command.
  • 40 hours of instrument time.
  • Complete flight test.
